Best of 2013 – WeddingWire and The Knot

There is just so much I love about weddings. I get to met amazing people and hear stories about how they discovered love. I’m able to work with wonderful couples crafting the ceremony of their dreams that both honors their current values and tell their story in a unique way.

Couples invite me into a magical space to share their joy and happiness. And as their wedding officiant, we create a bond that will last for the rest of our lives.

Sometimes I run a slideshow in my mind with snapshots of couples that I’ve married. I see the smiles, the happy wedding guests, the touch as they exchange rings, the sparkle in their eyes, the magic of that “first kiss.” I see the pictures of the wonderful venues.

Life is very good. I’m the luckiest guy alive.

And in the midst of all of this, my work with wedding couples has been recognized.

WeddingWire’s Bride’s Choice Awards 2013 and The Knot Best of Weddings 2013.

I don’t see these awards as providing boasting rights. It’s as much about the couples that I’ve married — from Christina and David on the Chesapeake Bay to Christy and Erik on a Leesburg mountaintop and so many others in between.

So these awards are a tribute to you.

Thank you for inviting into your lives at this wonderful time of new beginnings.

You give me hope that love lives, that commitments are worthwhile, that the future is bright with promise, that the darkest of days are always out-shined by the brightness of love.
